„Whenever we go somewhere and like something we don’t have in Zlín, we want to bring it to the people here. That's actually how the entire cafe came about.“

— Antonín Tichý

  • Surrounded by palm trees, banana trees and all kinds of house plants, Jedním Tahem is a place where you can enjoy your favorite batch brew or espresso with a selection of specialties from all over the world that the owner Antonín picked up during his travels - from Italian pistachio croissants, through Portuguese Pastéis de nata to crusty farm bread with avocado and more - everything is homemade.

„Most of our inspiration comes from traveling to foreign countries or trips to bigger cities. Whenever we go somewhere and like something we don’t have in Zlín, we want to bring it to the people here. That's actually how the entire cafe came about. Our goal was to be the one place in Zlín that you’ll want your friends to see and experience when they come for a visit.“

The space was created by Antonín and his brother - architect Michal Tichý. As the main element and building block they chose gray plastic crates from which they assembled seating spaces, furniture pieces, tables, bars and flower pots which made the place variable so it could serve for other purposes when needed. Once in a while the cafe turns into an exhibition space, a concert hall or a place for social gatherings.

Whether you are looking for a chill environment where you catch up on e-mails and work or you want to slow down, sit back and enjoy the atmosphere of one of the most inspiring and cool local spots, you won’t be disappointed with Jedním Tahem.

PS: If you’re looking for coffee on the go while exploring Zlín, just look around. Chances are you’ll come across one of the two Coffee Express bikes that belong to the cafe. From spring to fall you can most often find them at Náměstí Míru and in Park Komenského.
